Landscape Photography with Steve Mohlenkamp
In this weekend workshop, you’ll explore
capturing the natural world with photographer Steve Mohlenkamp. Steve
is a respected educator with a great ability to teach and inspire
photographers.
His focus on an intuitive, emotional response to the landscape, paired
with plenty of hands-on guidance will make this workshop
a rare treat. You’ll learn to respond to the landscape around you and
to capture the essence of places as you work to translate
your vision into successful imagery.
In day one of the workshop we will look at:
•Composition
•Time of day and year
•Using filters to enhance your image
•What equipment you need and what you should leave behind
•Color vs. black and white
•Weather and how to use it to you advantage
•Editing you photos to bring out the most in them
Day
two we will go and shoot landscapes using what we have learned in
class. We will travel to several locations located in or near the
foothills. Class will start in the afternoon on Sunday and finish up in
the evening so that we will also be able to catch the twilight hours as
they have the ability to give your photos a whole new dramatic quality.
Steve has been a professional photographer for 37 years now. His images
have appeared in such
publications as Cowboys & Indians, Arizona Highways, Car
&
Driver, Sunset, Plateau Journal, and Road & Track, to name a
few.
He considers his studio to be wherever his cameras are on the moment,
and the most exciting shot is always the next one....
You should have a good working knowledge of your cameras and should be
prepared to explore new methods in landscape photography.
Saturday we meet from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
